For Salon Meritage, A Rebirth
Dozens gather Sunday as the site of last year's shooting reopens.
In a tribute to survival and hope, Sandi Fannin, who lost her husband and several friends and employees in last year’s massacre at Salon Meritage, helped celebrate the reopening of the salon Sunday.
Fannin sold the business to stylist Irma Acosta, who completely renovated the space but kept its name. To symbolize the salon’s transformation, butterflies were released during Sunday's ceremony.
Dozens of well-wishers offered hugs and prayers.
