Rossmoor Great-Grandmother Turns 100

Edna Cora Marsh has 12 great-grandchildren.

However you count it, it's a lot of candles.

Rossmoor resident Edna Cora Marsh celebrated her 100th birthday today.

Born May 21, 1913, Marsh lives with her daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Jim Bell in the 3,000-home community of Rossmoor.

Marsh, who outlived her husband and soulmate Lawrence Marsh, has two sons -- Larry and Melvin; five grandchildren -- Melody, Susan, Cathie, Kim, Jeff and the late Rob Marsh; and 12 great grandchildren, according to Susan Bell, Rossmoor Community Services general manager.

Marsh loves family gatherings, sweets, reading and sucking on See’s candy suckers.

"She especially enjoys reading her bible every day," said Bell in a written statement. "She's always smiling and loves to give everyone a hug."

"Happy Birthday Edna!"  Bell added.

And Edna? Happy Birthday from Patch, too.
