Crowds Turn Out for Rossmoor Community Festival

Hundreds of people attend last weekend's annual festival at Rush Park.

The family-oriented Rossmoor Community Festival kicked off May 6 with a helicopter landing by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. An Orange County Harbor Patrol boat and a K-9 Team were also provided for attendees to view and photograph.

The inaugural “We Care High Heel Dash” created a spectacle, with men and women running down Rossmoor’s Chianti Road in 2-inch high heels. Many of the participants also wore costumes, which made for a colorful and entertaining race. Winners were awarded miniature high-heel trophies.

The event also featured a car show, dog parade, live band and magician. Popular with the children were pony rides, a trackless train and an obstacle-course bouncer.
