McKenna's on the Bay Closes After Owner's Death

The restaurant closes after a decade in business at the Alamitos Bay Landing.

McKenna’s on the Bay in Long Beach closed last week due to financial struggles after the death of the restaurant's owner back in November, reports the Orange County Register.

McKenna's on the Bay has been open for over a decade at the Alamitos Bay Landing, according to the OC Register. The restaurant closed Jan. 2.

"The owners of Bancap Seaport Village Inc., which owns Alamitos Bay Landing, took over the restaurant after McKenna’s experienced financial challenges after its majority owner, 69-year-old Nicolas Limer died, Bancap said in a statement. Limer had been fighting pancreatic cancer over the past three years and was undergoing chemotherapy on a weekly basis at the time of his death, said his close friend, restaurateur John Morris," according to the OC Register.
