In Seal Beach, They Know Where To Find the Stars
Seal Beach star gazers gather with telescopes to view the moons and rings of Saturn.
Seal Beach is full of fun, free things to do if you know where to look. And sometimes, you just have to look up.
Each month a group of volunteer astronomers and amateur stargazers get together at Eisenhower Park to explore the celestial wonders. The Astronomy Night Star Party at the Pier is co-hosted by astronomy buff, Michael Beckage, and organized by Bogart’s Coffee House.
This weekend, they caught a glimpse of the rings of Saturn. Much like Galileo first did 401 years ago, local stargazers used telescopes to see the magnificent rings. Those icy rings are the most extensive of all the planets in our solar system. At this weekend’s star party, astronomers set out to identify several of Saturn’s moons
