A cold front from the Gulf of Alaska is expected to bring cold temperatures and a chance of showers to Orange County Thursday.
The National Weather Service is warning of "unstable weather conditions" expected to bring snow as low as 2,500 feet.
Forecasters predict a 70 percent chance of showers Thursday night through Friday with overnight lows dipping into the low 40s. The showers are expected to pass by the weekend. However, temperatures are expected to drop near freezing in inland areas Saturday and Sunday nights and hover in the low 40s along the coast, according to the weather service.
