Grab ’n’ Go Kids Planner: Fun in the Outdoors

Why go: Rock out on the sand at this free concert

Where/When: Orange County Zoo, 1 Irvine Park Road, Orange; 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday 
Why go: Children ages 3 and 4 can learn all about the sea and its residents—including sharks, dolphins and sea otters. 
Pricing: $5 for one child and one parent, $3 for parking

Where/When: Santiago Creek Nature Center, 600 E. Memory Lane, Santa Ana; 9 to noon Saturday
Why go: Learn about what native plants attract butterflies into your garden, then take a short hike to find them in the nature preserve. 
Pricing: $5

Where/When: , 10862 Bloomfield St., Los Alamitos; 6:30 p.m. Saturday
Why go: Besides an entertaining movie, a local band will perform. Prizes will be given away and food is available. 
Pricing: Free

Where/When: , 340 Main St., Seal Beach; 6 p.m. Sunday
Why go: Because anyone who wants to be considered a citizen of the world should watch this movie. (Suitable for older children.)
Pricing: $8 adults, $6 for students with current I.D.; $6 for 55 and over, $5 for children under 12
