Gas prices inched toward $4 per gallon in the last week, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California’s Weekend Gas Watch.
The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in Orange County is $3.918 per gallon, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California.
That’s 11.3 cents more than a week ago, about 53 cents higher than last month and roughly 86 cents higher than one year ago.
“There are no average prices in major Southern California cities under $3.90 a gallon now,” said Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring. “However, despite Middle East turmoil, crude oil inventories are at very high levels in the U.S.”
According to Mapquest, the lowest price for gas in the U.S. is $2.89 and the highest is $4.65.
