Gas Prices Rise Above $4

We'll tell you where to save money at the pump.

Average gas prices are about $4.04 per gallon in California, according to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report.

That's about 5 cents more than one week ago, for regular gas. One year ago, the average price was about $3.10, according to the report.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in Orange County is $4.043 per gallon, which is 6.7 cents more than last week, about 29 cents higher than last month and 96 cents higher than last year, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's Weekend Gas Watch.

According to MapQuest, the lowest price for gas in the U.S. is $3.09, in Ketchum, OK, and the highest is here in California—$5.40 in Death Valley.
