At Least 150 Layoffs Expected in Los Alamitos, Seal Beach

According to the Employment Development Department's WARN list, two local companies plan layoffs in the coming week.

The California Employment Development Department (EDD) released on Tuesday a list of WARN notices of possible layoffs around the state in the coming week, including at least 150 in Los Alamitos and Seal Beach.

According to the WARN notices, 99 workers from Omnicare in Los Alamitos could see layoffs on Jan. 14.

The report shows 62 workers from Dendreon Corporation in Seal Beach might face layoffs on Jan. 16.

According to the EDD, "WARN provides protection to employees, their families, and communities by requiring employers to give affected employees and other state and local representatives notice 60 days in advance of a plant closing or mass layoff."

The EDD supplies the WARN list for the public to see upcoming layoffs by California locations. To see the full list of all locations, go here.
