Shoemaker will be retiring from his role as Senior Pastor of Grace Community Church after almost 28 years of service, during which time he also served the broader community as the Senior Chaplain of the Seal Beach Police Department. From the 9/11 candlelight vigils hosted by the church to the painful aftermath the of the Salon Meritage shootings, Shoemaker’s was the voice of solace for many in the community.
In honor of his commitment to Christian music during his years of service, Grace Community Church will be hosting “A Heritage of Song, A Community Celebration” in the McGaugh School auditorium on Sunday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The event is open to the community.
