A cold Pacific storm is approaching the area today, bringing with it increasing clouds and a high today near 61, according to the National Weather Service.
There is a 60% chance of rain tonight in the Los Alamitos/Seal Beach area, mainly after 11 p.m. The low tonight is expected to be around 51.
On Friday, rain is sure thing, with thunderstorms and small hail possible after 11 a.m., forecasters say. It will be windy, with gusts as high as 30 mph. The chance of rain drops to 50% Friday night, when the low will fall to around 48.
The sun will return on Saturday, forecasters say, when Los Alamitos/Seal Beach area will see a high near 64.
