Obituary for Robert Morris, long time resident of Los Alamitos

Robert "Bob" Anthony Morris was born March 26, 1944 in Los Angeles, California to Ralph Newell Morris and Virginia May Morris. He left this earth for the next big adventure on March 9, 2014 at the age of 69 in Mesquite, Texas.

Bob had four beautiful siblings, big sister Pam Baker, shared his intelligence, love of family and was a life-long confidant and close friend. Younger brother Michael shared the Morris height, good looks and booming presence before passing in 2009. Younger sister Laura, credits Bob as a life mentor having shared much of her youth in the company of Bob and his first wife, Marlene and there three children. Step-sister Brenda, shared Bob's interest in philosophy and spirituality.

In his professional life, Bob spent most of his adult years working his way up the company ladder of Newell Color Lab, the company founded by his father. Bob served as President for many years before retiring from the color lab business and shifting gears to start a childcare business with his wife Judi Beaudoin.

Aside from his career change, Bob made a conscious life change during this period. He slowed down his pace and made family time his priority. Bob was famous for his open-door policy and every one of his kid's friends were welcome at anytime, day or night. Bob also became an incredible home chef, spoiling his family and friends nightly to great food and drink.

Bob and his beloved wife of 14 years, (and girlfriend of 30 years) Judi Beaudoin, moved to Mesquite in 2010 to create a more simple life after closing their chain of preschool and daycare centers that had served the Cypress, California community for 20 years. Together, they made a tremendous imprint on the lives of their kids, families and employees.

Judi is encircled with the love and support of their five children, Patrick Robert Morris& wife RaeAnn, Gregory John Morris, Christina Marlene Hempstead & husband Christopher, Jeffery Stuart Beaudoin & wife Brandi and Noelle Michelle Tillery & husband Gary; as well as their seven beautiful grandchildren Kenady, Sydney and Ronni Beaudoin, Mitchell and Cameron Morris, and Aidan and Cate Hempstead.

His life and legacy live on in all who knew and loved him.

Celebration of life will be held on April 4th in Long Beach.  For more information contact Christina Hempstead at hempsteadfamily@mac.com
