NuVision Federal Credit Union Delivered 30 Backpacks Filled with School Supplies to the Huntington Beach Youth Center
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA September 10, 2012 – On August 28, NuVision employees delivered 30 new backpacks filled with the essential supplies needed for school to the Huntington Beach Youth Center in Huntington Beach, California.
The Huntington Beach Youth Shelter receives limited federal funding for their facility that provides shelter, meals, group and family counseling, academic tutoring, life skills development and more to children between the ages of 11 – 17.
“We’re excited because this partnership with NuVision will prepare the children for a successful school year with all the tools they need,” said Center program director Elsa Greenfield.
The Shelter provides a safe and secure place for the youth. The Shelter staff is dedicated to helping those who arrive and stay at the Shelter facing challenging situations make positive changes in their lives.
NuVision Federal Credit Union began its relationship with the Huntington Beach Youth Shelter four years ago. Upon meeting Shelter staff and residents, NuVision immediately saw the importance of providing shelter and resources for our youth and began supporting the Shelter through sponsorships, food and toy donations. NuVision has strengthened this relationship by donating backpacks to the Shelter in 2011 and again this year.
“We’re dedicated to the communities we serve and just so happy to help,” said Attila Morgan, NuVision’s manager of Community Involvement and Business Development. “We’ll be back next year!”
