Ryan Schlerf, a Sophmore at LAHS plays ice hockey out of Glacier Gardens in Lakewood for the LA Selcts 16AAA team. The 16AAA team won the State Championship this year (Feb) and went on to win theRegional Championship in Anchorage in Marchl. They travel the first week of April to Hartford, CT for USA Hockey National Championship where they got the Bronze.
They play in the CAHA League, California Amateur Hockey Association, and play all the teams in their divisions from California. This season they won 19 out of 22 games. They were undefeated in the State Championship and undefeated in the Regional Championship.
Besides the CAHA league they were invited to be in the Tier 1 League. This league represents the best 25 club teams in the USA. They are in the Midget Minor 16U division. This season they won 32 games out of 35 games and were named the Tier 1 League Champions. This was a first for a California team. During the season they traveled to Chicago, Phoenix, Detroit, Ancorage and Hartford.
