At age 77 Tom Pontac of Seal Beach is in the best shape of his life. Having started running at age 41, he has completed around 250 marathons and ultra-marathons. These include 29 consecutive Long Beach Marathons, OC Marathons, and others outside of the US. He does not take a single pill of medication, just natural vitamins and supplements, and he says this is the best time of his life. Tom is still running, and placing at the top of his age group!
You’ll catch Tom this Sunday May 4, 2014 at the US Bank 10th Annual OC Marathon, along with 22,000 other runners participating in the marathon, half marathon, Wahoo’s OC 5K, and Kids Run the OC. Starting at the Newport Beach Marriott and ending at the OC Fair and Event Center, the race traverses Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Irvine, and Santa Ana.
