Watch: 3,000 Griffins Attempt World Record Harlem Shake

Dressed as everything from Captain America to colonials, thousands of students at Los Alamitos High School took the Harlem Shake to a new level.

The inevitable finally happened: The Harlem Shake came to Los Alamitos, and, in true Griffins fashion, the students and staff at Los Alamitos High School held nothing back.

The school attempted to set the world record for the largest high school Harlem Shake with more than 3,000 students rocking out during lunch on the Friday before spring break.

The school has applied for the official title with the Guinness Book Of World Records. There is no word yet on whether the Griffins hold the record, but the school is proud it got so many students involved.

“We believe in connecting every single student to school activities,” Principal Joshua Arnold said in a written release. “Los Al’s an incredible school with an abundance of successful programs in Academics, Athletics, Activities, and the Arts; so when we find opportunities to connect every single student to school and to each other, all at once, we’re always quick to jump on it.”

As of Monday, 8,266 people watched the Los Alamitos High School Harlem Shake on Youtube.
