Whole Foods is also providing the free wine and cheese.

“The wine, and the cheese is a little bait, because what we really want is people to hear these men,” said Sally Hirsch, one of the five members of Save Our Seas.

“We read the books and we think that this message should get out to the people because it’s so important,” said Hirsch, a 44-year Seal Beach resident.

“If we would follow these books we would be stewards of the earth,” Hirsch said. “And we want to be stewards of the earth so that our grandchildren and our children will be able to live in a place where the (amount of) plastic in the seas is -- rather than growing -- being diminished. “

The event runs from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Seal Beach Center for Spiritual Living, 500 Marina Drive.
