405 Freeway Connector Closes for 55 Hours

The northbound 405/605 Freeway connector will close for 55 hours Friday night until 5 a.m. Monday

It could be worse ― it could be a yearlong closure like the Eastbound 22/northbound 405 connector closure starting Sunday.

In addition to the two major connector closures, which are part of the Orange County Transportation Authority’s $277 million , there will be several closures in the area over the weekend. FULL FREEWAY CLOSURES BY OCTA

• SB I-405 Freeway at EB SR-22 (Closed nightly, Friday, Sept. 14 through Monday, Sept. 17, between 11:59 p.m. and 5 a.m.) 
  •  DETOUR: From the SB I-405 take the EB SR-22 freeway connector and exit Valley View St., turn right on Garden Grove Blvd., then turn left on Valley View St. / Bolsa Chica Rd. to access the SB I-405 freeway on-ramp  

 ROAD / LANE CLOSURES

• Seal Beach Blvd. from Old Ranch Pkwy. to North Gate Rd. (Closed Sunday night, Sept. 16 and Monday night, Sept. 17, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.)
  • DETOUR: Motorists will be directed to use Valley View St. or Studebaker Rd. to bypass Seal Beach Blvd. 

 CONNECTOR CLOSURES 

•  NB I-405 to NB I-605 Connector 55-Hour Closure (From 10 p.m., Friday, Sept. 14 through 5 a.m., Monday, Sept. 17)
  • DETOUR: From the NB I-405 exit Seal Beach Blvd., turn right and continue north on Seal Beach Blvd. / Los Alamitos Blvd. then turn left on Katella Ave. to access the NB I-605 freeway on-ramp OR continue on Katella Ave., then turn left on Palo Verde Ave. to access the NB I-405 freeway on-ramp

• EB SR-22 to NB I-405 Connector 12-month Closure (Beginning Sunday, Sept. 16 at 11 p.m.)
  • DETOUR: From the EB SR-22 exit Studebaker Rd., turn right on Studebaker Rd. and continue north to access the NB I-405 freeway on-ramp 

• EB SR-22 to NB I-405 / NB I-605 Connector (Closed Friday night, Sept. 14 and Sunday night, Sept. 16, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.)
  • DETOUR: From the EB SR-22 exit Studebaker Rd. and turn right, proceed north on Studebaker Rd. to access the NB I-405 freeway on-ramp OR continue on Studebaker Rd., then turn right on Willow St. to access the NB I-605 freeway on-ramp

• SB I-605 to NB I-405 Connector (Closed from 11 .m., Friday, Sept. 14 until 5 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 15)
  • DETOUR: From the SB I-605 exit Willow St. and turn right, turn left on Palo Verde Ave. to access the NB I-405 freeway on-ramp

• SB I-405 to WB SR-22 Connector (Closed from 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 until 5 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 16)
  • DETOUR: From the SB I-405 exit Studebaker Rd. (stay in the right lane) and proceed south to access the WB SR-22 on-ramp

• SB I-605 to SB I-405 Connector (Closed Sunday night, Sept. 16 and Monday night, Sept. 17, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.)
  • DETOUR: From the SB I-605 exit Willow St., turn left on Studebaker Rd. and continue south, then turn left on Westminster Ave. Continue east for approximately 5 miles to access the SB I-405 freeway on-ramp or turn left on Bolsa Chica Rd., then turn right on Garden Grove Blvd. to access the EB SR-22 freeway on-ramp
    

RAMP CLOSURES 

• NB I-405 Seal Beach Blvd. On-Ramp (Closed from 10 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 16 until 5 a.m., Monday, Sept. 17)
  • DETOUR: From Seal Beach Blvd. head north, turn left on Katella Ave. to access the NB I-605 freeway on-ramp OR continue west on Katella Ave. / Willow St. and turn left on Palo Verde Ave. to access the NB I-405 freeway on-ramp

• NB I-405 Seal Beach Blvd. Off-Ramp (Closed from 10 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 16 until 5 a.m., Monday, Sept. 17)
  • DETOUR: From the NB I-405 exit Valley View St., turn left on Garden Grove Blvd. then right on Valley View St., turn left at Lampson Ave. and continue west to Seal Beach Blvd.
